Jakeman Shaklee Oliver, PS: Immigration Law Firm is seeking a long-term full or part-time Legal Assistant/Receptionist.

Responsibilities:

· Answering and directing incoming calls, primarily in Spanish

· Managing attorney calendars and scheduling client appointments

· Greeting and directing clients and visitors

· Receiving and preparing correspondence

· Other general office duties

· Preparing family-based petitions, asylum applications, naturalization applications, and other immigration petitions and applications that involve the creation of immigration forms

· Preparing evidentiary submissions for deportation (removal) cases, such as exhibit lists

· Conducting preliminary client interviews

· Recording client declarations

· Providing occasional Spanish interpretation and translation assistance

· Running errands, including filing submissions with the Seattle and Tacoma Immigration Courts


Qualifications:

· Fluent English and Spanish, including the ability to speak, read, and write in both languages

· Proficiency in another language is preferred

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Sensitivity, discretion, and a commitment to serving the immigrant community

· The ability to multitask and complete small projects efficiently

· Excellent problem-solving and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Attention to detail

· Experience with Microsoft Office

· Driver's license is preferred
